The best Day, with a Friend
First, just to see her!
Then out to lunch at a lace I've never been.
Then to the Wenham Museum, whence I also had never been.
Photos aren't allowed, but I begged,
and got reluctant permission
to snap this lady & her wardrobe.
I could have stayed a week,
well, maybe not.
I did get tired, but I loved it!

Knit Jacket -- dolls, again!
Just finished this little jacket last night. Now the dilemma. I didn't plan to hook the collar around, like this. Will I feel better if I take the collar off and do it again? Should I just live with it? I don't know...

Oh, dear!
OK, I'm retreating into my world of dolls, again. So much to do. So much to feel. So... often I retreat!

Tristen in costume
Trisen fits well into the costume of a porcelein doll (broken) that I got at Goodwill for less than $2.

Doll nonsense!
Some of my dolls. I shouldn't have, with the middle one, a very recent purchase. She's a Moxie Teenz and less than half the price of a larger doll, Ellowyne Wilde, that I've been resisting. i love the look of a large head on a slim body, for certain kinds of styles. The one she's wearing is from a porcelain "collector doll" with odd proportions. She was a Goodwill find for less than $2. The doll's original outfit is in the single (Blurry) shot.
I'm not sorry, though I was not economical. B)

Customizing .. Dolls
I wish I could begin to share what incredible things people are doing with dolls, out there! There are totally original dolls, of course. Then there are dolls made up of parts from more than one kind of doll. I bought a LIV doll for her poseability. She was the only one I had & I decided I would like her better with a smaller head. I thought it would be more proportionate for "lifelike" posing. I took the head from a Mattel Barbie line. This can be done, but carefully. There are instructions online for decapitating dolls, I think. Her head looked so tiny to me on a standard Barbie body. I put them together and was so pleased that I crowed about it on Prego, a doll board. When someone asked to see pictures of my "frankendolly," I realised that not only did other people already do what I had done (I did know that) but that it is so common, it has a name. In fact, one of the FAQ's on Prego is whether certain dolly heads & bodies will fit together. So I named my first frankendolly, Frankie. So far, her life has been rather quiet. Here she is. The third picture shows Frankie between LIV Sophie & Katie. They are so cool, with their wigs & many joints, & I love them, too. Frankie is special, though!

Dolls have changed
In just my lifetime, dolls have changed.
The reproduction Tiny Betsy shows a popular doll from the 1950's.
This Tiffany Taylor is from the 1970's.
I think. She is wearing a gown made
for Gene, who was rather a change from
past dolls, herself!
