Customizing .. Dolls

I wish I could begin to share what incredible things people are doing with dolls, out there! There are totally original dolls, of course. Then there are dolls made up of parts from more than one kind of doll. I bought a LIV doll for her poseability. She was the only one I had & I decided I would like her better with a smaller head. I thought it would be more proportionate for "lifelike" posing. I took the head from a Mattel Barbie line. This can be done, but carefully. There are instructions online for decapitating dolls, I think. Her head looked so tiny to me on a standard Barbie body. I put them together and was so pleased that I crowed about it on Prego, a doll board. When someone asked to see pictures of my "frankendolly," I realised that not only did other people already do what I had done (I did know that) but that it is so common, it has a name. In fact, one of the FAQ's on Prego is whether certain dolly heads & bodies will fit together. So I named my first frankendolly, Frankie. So far, her life has been rather quiet. Here she is. The third picture shows Frankie between LIV Sophie & Katie. They are so cool, with their wigs & many joints, & I love them, too. Frankie is special, though!
