Doodling Digitally

I know I'm not an accomplished artist.
I refuse to be frustrated
(most of the time)
so, I doodle.

Today's doodle is digital.
I started with a photograph.
Using Gimp, I made it gray(s)
then I broke down the grays
by "posterizing" it.

I tried adding some color with bucket fill.

There is an option called "make seamless"
in Gimp.  I liked this image.

The purpose of a "seamless" image is
to make a multi copy without obvious
dividing lines.
I like this one, too.

Then I went back to dumping color into
the image.
Ta daaaa!  (ahem)
Well, it was fun.  :)

Oh, here is the original
photo.  Too enigmatic?
It's crumpled tissue.  :)

Squash!

Last Saturday Uncle Si and I stopped
by our niece, Eva Girl's to pick up
one pumpkin.
Adding a little education on
the squash family,
Eva Girl loaded us up!
Oh, and we got to see her
sister, too.  Two beloved nieces
in one visit!

This one will be decorative for a while
before I attempt to chop it up.

In the meantime, of course, I had to

play with my images!

I like this one,
reduced to very few colors,

cropped,

manipulated,

but, I'm not so sure about the
multiple.
How do you like it?

What is It?

Is it art?
Is it something you may have
seen?
Do you recognise it?

This is how I did it.

First, find an object.
This one reminded me of a small
pitcher we used to have,
lo, these many years ago.
So, (sigh) I bought it.

Next, take a picture at an
unusual angle.

I set my camera for macro,
removed the top of the pitcher
and
poked my lens in,
pointing as close to straight down
as I could manage.

Then, of course, mess with the
colors, the pixels and the composition.
I used GIMP 2.

Eat Violas!

Sorry to be so silly,
but if I can find something
pretty about an ordinary object,
then, with my limited resources,
add to it's beauty,
just think
what God is making
of you and me! :)

Doodle Days

The "original."

Photographed and colored

on Gimp, a free photo

manipulation download

that I love to use.

It is so easy to change

my mind and the colors!

Much easier than it would be

if I colored it by hand, like this one. :)

(I could really use a comment, or two.)

(This is more the way it really looks.)

Squiggles (More Doodling)

It is official!

I am having too much fun.

Do not worry, I am coming
to the end of my blank book.

Of course, there is always
plain old paper!

Digital doodling is endless!

Variations abound.

Truth to be told, all this doodling
helped me in waiting for some
pain to subside, yesterday.
Life is interesting in it's fluctuations.

Leave It!

I do not know how many years

I have been doodling curvy leaves

on the sides of my church programs

or any notes I am taking.

Now I'm digitally doodling

with curvy leaves

and I don't seem to have
come to the end of the
possibilities, yet...

A Liddle More Doodling

These were all

drawn in my journal

photographed,

transferred to my netbook

digitally colored,

and re-colored,

and, in some cases,

digitally manipulated using
Gimp.

They exist on paper only as
outlines, drawings done in
pencil, then inked with
Sharpie marker.
