Useless Doodles?

What good is it,

besides being fun

and

soothing to the soul,

to doodle without purpose?

To sketch, 

to diagram an idea, 

these may mean

something.

Just to draw a 

writing implement

across paper,

of what use is that?

Here, for an instance,
is a page from my current
blank book.
Was there something
in the blob that
inspired the
design?

The colors are the same.

The design reminded me
of tile

or, perhaps, fabric.

Perhaps the idea of fabric with

a black background is a good idea.
Perhaps not.
How shall I know until I give it a try?
Thus, with computer and manually,
 I doodle. :)
