The easy answer to this is...
... not that I am aware of!
 |
I grew up around people
who gardened. I was
required to weed and pick,
though not to the extent
that my mother was
when she was
growing up.
Her father had a truck garden.
He was still selling
vegetables to a grocery
store when in his eighties,
as I recall.
But, I digress.
Knowing what vegetables
and fruit are
supposed
to taste like,
can be a hindrance.
Some things
just won't do.
I was spoiled
in having all that
fresh and canned produce
easily at hand.
So...
on Friday, I bought the above
packs of vegetable plants:
12 tomatoes (2 varieties)
6 green peppers
4 or 5 or 6 leaf lettuce
(they're all jammed together) |
 |
This flower garden,
which no longer flowers,
with the exception of
wild strawberries
and weeds,
is an example
of my abilities.
|
 |
Same tiny garden,
different angle.
Saturday, Uncle Si
and I bought something
to "beef up" the soil
I was going to say we
picked it up.
Si picked it up.
If it had been up to me,
The bags would still be
on the pallets.
I found out, again,
how little strength
I have in my arms! |
 |
Fortunately, Si, my DH,
was very willing and able to
help me get the
poor plants into their
new bed. |
 |
With the overflow of amended soil,
we made a place for the peppers. |
 |
The lettuce has to wait.
Come to think of it,
I'm not sure where
the lettuce is going!
Uh oh.
I think I may have answered
my title question. |
There's a bit of rain coming today, so your new veggies will get settled in nicely : )
ReplyDeleteOh, goody! I was going to water them, again, this evening. Maybe I won't need to do so. :)
