Quick Stop at Daneece's (the Niece's)

I am so blessed to
have as my niece
Eva Girl
of
The Opulent Poppy,
who got me interested
in blogging.
She keeps her house
pretty.
Here's the front door.

As I got out of the car I was softly
greeted by the chickens.

I am always blessed by her

artistic touches

outdoors.

I also have to fight off a little
garden envy.

I'm sure, if I put as much time and
attention into gardening as she does
I would have... well, something.

On the back door steps --
for a nicer look go here.

She's busy putting up
flower seeds for
a benefit sale.

Her younger son shows off their
lovely pumpkin.

Older boy is busy with his
artwork.

Oh, great!  Now I have squash envy, too!
;)

After a couple of blurred
photos, I try the flash.
It washed out this handsome
guy's face, but I got a nice smile.

Anybody going outside?

I guess so!  Goodbye, boys!
I'll see you, again.
(Hopefully, soon!)

Green Yard

It was hot

a lot.

The rain has poured

and drizzled.

Things are lush and green.

My poor little garden has had a flood
of sand obliterate a lot of the tiny plants.
The heavy rain, the other day, left
what was left of the beets, well, beaten.

Some of the lettuce is still growing.
There is time to plant more.

The moist greenness is
nearly everywhere.

Yard Flowers

There are flowers that I put in my yard.
Narcissi

White violets from my grandmother's garden

Purple violets from my mother's garden
 Then, there are the flowers
that "volunteered"
Dandelion

Bluets?  but these are white!

Tiny purple violets

and tinier white violets

My!
What a big finger I have! :)

Shoots, Buds and Blossoms

Where there seemed to be nothing
chives have arisen!

Buds swell with promise.

Delicate crocus bloom.

There are still traces of snow,
but Spring is winning.

Spring is winning.

My Thumb May Have Greenish Tinge

In case anyone wonders, I think
I post pictures of my garden,
clothes on the line
and other domestic joys

because I'm so happy to
have any success in this area.
(Any success, at all)
:)

Friday Went By

I took these photos

of my little garden

on Friday.

Between a busy Sunday,
a Monday that was odd,
and a busy Tuesday,
I did not post.

So, today I tried to capture the

growth of the green peppers

and the ripening of the tomatoes.

I don't feel I did a great job, but
I am pleased that I have kept from
killing off every plant -- or any
plant, for that matter!

Eva Girl at The Opulent Poppy, tells me
that the flesh of my sweet peppers
will thicken if I leave them growing
longer, so I haven't harvested any, yet.

Eating Fresh

A little eager?
Perhaps I was,
but
I wanted to be sure
I got to eat this,
rather than some
woodsy visitor
in the night.

Another is ripening!

OK, when can we eat them? :)

I harvested where I did not plant.
