Amigurumi ?

Decades before I ever heard of
Amigurumi,
I saw a friend crocheting
and stuffing a figure.

Having seen so much
described as Amigurumi,
I decided to find out
what it is.

Then, of course,
I thought I would give
it a try.

Using some Jack Frost
acrylic yarn that has
been gathering dust in
my stash, I made
the body
for
the Spider.

Frankly, I was not very
impressed.
Nevertheless,
I started, again.

This time, I knew
I wanted to try a
caterpillar or centipede
or something.

Mr Book Worm
came into being.
  Then, using some
lighter weight yarn,
I decided to try a
mushroom.

Now, before the details were
added to the other
pieces, this one was the
one I liked best.

I am pleased that,
using just crochet,
I was able to make
something that approached
what I had
thought up.

After adding chenille stem
legs and eyes to  the
spider
and his mortarboard
and eyes
to Mr. Book Worm,
I no longer have a favorite!

  1. All very cute, even though I don't like real spiders or worms! LOL! I love that mushroom! I'd love to have several in varying sizes and shades of brown. That would be so much fun! I bet they would sell well on Etsy and Ebay too!

    1. I'm not crazy about spiders, but worms don't bother me much. :) Thank you for the encouragement, Bama. I shall have to mull it over. (Actually, try it our & see how I like it.)
