I love Autumn!

A little green, a little yellow, a little white...

...and the Oak leaves holding tight are just some
 of the things I like about Autumn.

I'm Still Here, I Think!

I'm still doodling,

clumsily cutting myself ,
(trying to clean a pull top soup can
- I'm not very fond of those things)

admiring old cars,

playing with dolls,

celebrating my son's 25th birthday,

listing things on eBay,

and visiting with relatives.

This takes us back about two weeks.

I'm still here.  :)

Capturing a Caterpillar

Did you ever try to get close enough to
take a portrait of a caterpillar?

I'm not sure I ever had, before.

Where this caterpillar had been
openly moving along

when it sensed a looming presence
(that would be me)
it headed for the nearest shelter.

I'm not sure I got these pictures in order.

Before it disappeared entirely,
I picked it up.
I wish I could say I enticed it onto
a dry leaf..
How does one entice a caterpillar?
I picked it up.
The obvious reaction
of self protection occurred.

I waited, trying not to shake
the leaf too much.
Uncurled and marching on,
the caterpillar found the
edge of the leaf
and thus my waiting lens.

Then I had only to crop

and crop some more.

More Glitter Glue on Glass

Where else could I try that glitter glue?

How a bout the bathroom mirror?
(Goodness!  I didn't notice
how dirty that is until I looked
at the picture.)

I cut some stencils from contact paper,
sketching them on the paper backing, first.
Squeezing my glue directly on the
paintbrush worked well, even after
the brush was wet from rinsing.

There we go!
After it dried I could add more
glitter glue for a stronger color.
I think I'll just leave it, for now.

How do those photographers
get such great shots for
books and magazines?

I don't think they use this
method!
That's the outside curtain
on our tub.
I'm standing behind it,
holding the camera through
the fabric.

Go ahead and laugh!

Homemade Autumn Party Decor

It was one of those wedding receptions
that got delayed.
They had it at their own place.
It definitely had an October
flair and just about everything
was handmade by the
bride and her family.

There were
pumpkins carved with
Mr & Mrs and
homemade applesauce
as favors.

Grandma stitched the felt
leaves onto the burlap
runners.

The bride wrapped
bottles in yarn.
There were three
to a table.

She used pint sized
canning jars for
tealight holders.

I wish I had taken more pictures.  

It was casual but pretty 

and there was a whole lot of fun going on.

for this party.

Squash!

Last Saturday Uncle Si and I stopped
by our niece, Eva Girl's to pick up
one pumpkin.
Adding a little education on
the squash family,
Eva Girl loaded us up!
Oh, and we got to see her
sister, too.  Two beloved nieces
in one visit!

This one will be decorative for a while
before I attempt to chop it up.

In the meantime, of course, I had to

play with my images!

I like this one,
reduced to very few colors,

cropped,

manipulated,

but, I'm not so sure about the
multiple.
How do you like it?

Oh, Dear, Dollar Deer

So, I spray painted my
dollar deer, this afternoon.

I was hoping the red color of
 the can lid would look good
with the reds, yellows and
oranges of our Autumn colors.

In some lights this dear deer
is just too red.

He/she doesn't really clash with 

those leaves, though.

Well, let's try, again.
What other color is here
in our basement?

Gold!
I wonder if I could make
the deer look kinda
bronze like.

Uh oh!
I guess the nozzle needs
cleaning.

Well, I kind of like
this effect.
Let's give it a try.

"Hey, are you taking a
picture of my posterior?"

An Autumn Doodle

Just a little bit of "work"
I did while waiting to
feel better.

I doodled it by hand,
took a photo of it,
and added color
and effects
on
the computer.

This afternoon I napped.
Then I colored in my
doodled design with markers.

Which way should it go?

I think I "drew" it
this way... :)
