Book Sale! (again)

I do love a book sale!
Stopped in on Friday
when the books were
at their highest price.
Went back to buy by
the bag-full.
This table was full
on Friday.

There were still books left. :)

BOOK SALE!

One of the highlights of my Summer
is the array of library book sales
that are near us.

Brunswick's sale is, perhaps,
the largest I ever went to.

Organised though it is,
it is overwhelming for sheer size.

Still, I do manage to look over
all the sections I think will
hold something of interest
to me.

A Favorite Book

This one is written for children

but, like the Little House series

and several more I could name,

I love it as an adult.

When a writer must make the

final product readable for young

people, the resulting work can show 

subtle skill that simply delights me.

Caddie's father, after her sister has died,

has insisted that she must be allowed

to run with her brothers to gain

physical health and strength.

Tomboyish, she may be, but

thoughtful and involved, Caddie Woodlawn

is a girl I love to know, though

I'm not a bit like her!

Optimism, I guess!

That is the only reason I can think of,

that I bought this book!

Books - Keep or Not?

I do have a lot of books.

Some of which I may never open again.

If you never have read a book by Horatio Alger, Jr.

it is an experience that rounds out

20th century social history. 

These "Be clean and honest, ambitious, resourceful

and hard working and you will win out"

stories define a turn of turn of the century

(19th to 20th)

mentality.

Fun book

This jacket says:

It's a little bit simpler, bigger, and bolder.

Great fun for the young.  Still great if you're older.
