Thank You for Praying

The memorial service was this afternoon.

The sky was blue.

Sunshine and snow were blinding
and beautiful.

We had a high of about 10 degrees Fahrenheit.

The service is over.

For the twelve year old daughter, the eight year old son,
the twenty-four year old brother & sister  in law and the
father, who may be younger than I am, the really
tough part begins, now.

For the man who is responsible for her death,
the knowledge of what he has done to his children and
the prospect of his punishment at the hands of
the legal system must be daunting.

I only met Hilary once.

Her only brother married into my family.

There has been tragedy in my family, before.

There has never been anything like this.

The young pastor did a good job with a tough subject.

The service was lovely,
and difficult.

The father stood to thank everyone for coming
and his son sprang to his feet to support him,
placing his hand upon his shoulder.

In the large entry-way, the daughter clung
to someone dressed like her twin and wept.

To add to this was not my wish.

God granted that my teary moments were
few and quiet.

I'm thankful my husband could go.
I'm thankful that we went.

Thank you for your prayers
and support.

God is good.
All the time.

Hold your loved ones
for a moment longer
and
remember
how blessed
we are. :)
